ST25 rice reconfirmed as the most delectable variety worldwide.

The World's Best Rice 2023 award was claimed by Vietnamese rice (ST25) after outshining 30 rice samples sourced from 10 different countries.

On November 30, Ho Quang Cua and Ho Quang Tri private enterprise announced that Ong Cua ST25 had won the prestigious World's Best Rice 2023 award in the Philippines. The second and third prizes went to Cambodia and India respectively.

Out of 30 rice samples from 10 countries, Vietnamese rice emerged as the ultimate champion. The Rice Trader organized the annual "World's Best Rice" competition in 2009, and this is the second time that ST25 has claimed the top honor, with the first win being in 2019. 

The ST25 rice sample was cultivated on a 2.6 ha scale in Thanh Thoi An Commune, Tran De District, Soc Trang Province, during the summer-autumn crop and was harvested on September 14 and 15. 

In the previous year, Cambodian rice received the highest recognition in Thailand, while Vietnamese, Thai, and Lao rice varieties made it to the top four.
